Helen Mirren

Iran Remains Defiant. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has vowed to continue Iran's nuclear programme despite the international threat of sanctions. He was addressing a rally of thousands of supporters to mark the 28th anniversary of the Iranian revolution.

Extra Security As Ban Lifted. The Italian football season kicks off again after a ban imposed following the death of a policeman during riots is lifted. Extra security measures have been introduced in stadiums, but five Serie-A games will be played behind closed doors.

White Winter In The Big Apple. If you thought the snow was bad here in the UK over the past week, just look at this footage from New York. Several places had up to eight feet of snow and forecasters predict more of the stuff is likely to fall in and around the city.

Helen Mirren Triumphs At The BAFTAs. Helen Mirren and The Queen dominated the prizes at the annual British Academy of Film and Television Awards.

Those were the headlines for today. An old, and possible dead by know, Dutch football coach said once: "football is war". He ment of course on the field, between the 2 clubs playing each other. Now, violence by so called supporters make football in my eyes one of the most rejectable sports in the world at this time. The Italian leage was shut down, because a police officer was killed during riots, after supporters went to show their "love" for their club. Football stadiums are concidered not to be safe, and have to get more CCTV cameras, better entrances and a lot of other improvements. What happened to a happy family outing to see a football game?

Helen Mirren and the feature film The Queen won awards for best actress (Helen) and best film (The Queen) at the BAFTAs this weekend. I have seen the trailer, not the film it self, and I think: YES, it looks OK. The nice thing here is of course that a very old woman is recognized. Most of the time, a woman is history in the film world after she passed 30 years of age. But, being selfish, and keeping my own movie debut in mind, which should come any time now, I hope that this is not a trend for years to come. It's far more interesting to have beautiful and sexy girls like Angelina Jolie and myself reap in the awards. Don't forget... we are doing an awful lot to keep in shape. Anyway, congratulations Helen. By the way, I came across a lot of nude and semi nude shots of Helen Mirren, when I was looking for pictures of Helen on the web. What's that for a non sense? You're supposed to be British and above such behaviour.

But, as usual, I don't care whatever you do, for whatever reason, as long as you don't forget to love a soldier. Love, Jenifer Bloom. bloomjenifer@yahoo.co.uk
