Creator Fred Flintstone died, age 95

Robert Gates: Failure in Iraq will haunt U.S. On his first day as defense secretary, Robert Gates warned Monday that failure in Iraq would be a "calamity" that would haunt the United States for years. Underscoring eroding security there, a Pentagon report said the number of insurgent and sectarian attacks had risen to the highest level in years.

Italy Campaigns Against Anorexic Models. The Italian government and fashion industry joined forces Saturday in a campaign against anorexic models, which includes attention to the "full-bodied" and a commitment to add larger sizes to collections.

Fred Flinstone creator Joe Barbera dies at 95. Joe Barbera, half of the Hanna-Barbera animation team that produced such beloved cartoon characters as Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, and the Flintstones, died Monday, a Warner Bros. spokesman said. He was 95 years old. Yaba daba doo.

Those were the headlines for today. That is to say: I plugged a RSS news feed in the background of this episode, so if you are a fast reader, you will be able to get some more headlines from me. Italy is to ban Anorexic models, which I think is good. It is difficult enough to keep up with fashion trends, and having to be so thin that you are nothing more then a bag with bones, and perhaps a nice face, is horrible. One of the reasons that the Italians took this decision was the death of Brazilian model Anna Carolina Reston, who died of anorexia this November. The tumbnail of this episode is a photo of her, when se was still, although barely, alive. If you are having an eating disorder, then PLEASE go and ask for help. Don't ruin your body.

But, as usually, I don't care whatever you do, for whatever reason, as long as you don't forget to love a soldier. Love, Jenifer Bloom. bloomjenifer@yahoo.co.uk
